NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Police late Monday afternoon were on the scene of a deadly shooting, and a crash involving multiple vehicles, in Newark.
The incidents happened at the junction of Irvine Turner Boulevard and Spruce Street in Newark, police said.
Police confirmed to CBS 2 that three people were shot – two women and a man. One of the victims has been pronounced dead, police said.
There was also a crash involving at least three cars, police said. The crash and the shooting were related, but it was not immediately clear which came first, or their cause-and-effect relationship, police said.
The investigation continued after shortly before 6 p.m.
