Editor’s Notes: As mentioned in our in-house editorial of the collection, Matthew Williams’s buzzy label continues to tap its trademark aggro-fetish vibes via an array of austere tailoring adorned with metallic accessories such as harnesses, chains and chokers. The footwear continues to #slay, incorporating clunky cybergoth boots and svelte stilettos with massive silver d-rings and wide leather straps.

Raekwon and Lil Wayne Team Up for “My Corner” [Listen]

As the release date of his highly anticipated album The Wild approaches, Raekwon is continuing to hit fans with the heat.

On Thursday (Mar. 9), Raekwon dropped his latest single “My Corner” featuring Lil’ Wayne. The G Sparkz produced track is a “flashback to them good ol’ terrible blocks, and we take you back to all-black outfits,” Raekwon said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “This record must be played at high volume.”

Rae also explained why he teamed up with Weezy for the collab, letting fans know Wayne’s lyricism and charisma ultimately led to the decision to bring the heat.

“Wayne is a charismatic individual and his flows are dumb delightful” Raekwon continued.  “I studied him way back and appreciated the opportunity to trade bars with him.   I always heard his voice on this and I was very pleased hearing him tap dance on a different style of production.”

G Sparkz builds “My Corner” around a simple loop, synthesizers and rigid drums before the two MCs come in with hardcore lyrics and flow.  Raekwon raps with calm charisma, maintaining his tone between the verses and chorus. Wayne, taking a cue from The Chef, smoothed out his delivery and rapped with tight, rhythmic focus for roughly a minute straight.Weezy definitely shows fans during his verse why he’s still considered one of the hardest lyricists in the game.

“We about to break ’em down like when hammers hit boulders/If one of us go down, then we keep our lips frozen/Who that n**** with, blood?/Make him spit blood/He don’t got no name but the n**** that he hit does,” he spits. Raekwon wraps it all up with a second verse, alluding to his stamina right away, saying “I seen it all, done it all, and I’m still doin’ it/Who gave you crime action stories live from the bricks?/Now it’s more diamonds, more bread, more bitches, more.”

American Idol Alum Receives Backlash After Saying She ‘Chose’ To Be Straight After Being Gay For Two Years! The Fuck??

La’Porsha Renae — the American Idol runner-up who said she “doesn’t agree” with the LGBTQ lifestyle last year — is under fire this week after asserting that being gay or straight is a CHOICE. Ugh.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old quickly responded to claims she was homophobic by saying that not only was she “homosexual for two years” but she later “chose to be heterosexual.”

Note: Sentences that start with “I’m not homophobic, but…” usually don’t end well, bb.

Take a look at her controversial tweets (below):

Hold on… sorry, WHAT?!

She went on:

This girl is a mess!

After receiving a ton of warranted criticism, the singer tried to clarify her comments in a statement to Huffington Post:

“I decided to be heterosexual because I felt like that’s the life God intended me to live. My response to your skepticism is that many people walk many different strokes of life. Some people believe they chose homosexuality and some believe they didn’t. Who’s to say one is wrong? It’s not fair to generalize anyone’s sexuality or walk of life.

Let people believe what they want to believe about themselves. Life can be a complex thing. It’s not always black or white. I took a journey and became more grounded in my faith, and decided that I wanted to live a heterosexual life. The main point I want people to take away from my Tweets is that we are all shaped by different experiences, and we should all love and respect one another. We don’t have to have the same truths or personal belief systems to love one another and get along. I have homosexual friends and family. I believe in God and Jesus, my christ and savior, yet i have CLOSE friends who are atheists, friends who are Muslims, friends who are Jewish, friends who are transgender and believe God gave them the wrong body… We ALL LOVE ONE ANOTHER… we don’t try to ‘convert’ each other and we don’t CONDEMN each other for how different our walks of life are.

Everyone should have to right to believe in what they believe in and to live their lives the way they feel they want to. Me choosing to be straight does not in any way reflect on my love for homosexuals. I’ve been told that I’m a bigot, a hypocrite, a gay basher, a homophobic. I’m none of those things. I LOVE EVERYONE. ANYONE is welcome to hang out with me and have fun, or sit down with me and talk. I don’t discriminate against anyone. And I don’t condone hating someone or treating them badly because they live differently than I do. I so wish that people knew me for who I really am, but I don’t have that privilege. Social media takes a statement like, ‘Despite our different beliefs, we should be able to love and respect each other and treat each other with kindness’ and turns it into ‘LaPorsha Renae Hates LGBTQ community.'”

We abbbsolutely agree that everyone should be able to love and respect each other — but Mis Renae is seriously misguided!

Thoughts???
