People keep expecting to see rock bottom of Donald Trump‘s presidency. They are forgetting that he is completely incapable of ever admitting he’s wrong.
That means he’ll never get past his worst moments, including his defense of white supremacists in Charlottesville.
The POTUS was answering press questions on Air Force One on Thursday when a reporter asked simply how his meeting with South Carolina Senator Tim Scott had gone.
Scott is a Black Republican who was openly critical — as was most of the damn country — of how Trump refused to condemn the Neo-Nazis whose march ended in the death of a counter-protester.
Trump took the moment to reiterate just how right he was that “both sides” had been wrong. He said:
“I think especially in light of the advent of Antifa, if you look at what’s going on there. You have some pretty bad dudes on the other side also, and essentially that’s what I said. Now, because of what’s happened since then with Antifa — you look at really what’s happened since Charlottesville, a lot of people are saying and people have actually written, ‘Gee, Trump might have a point.’ I said, ‘You’ve got some very bad people on the other side also,’ which is true.”
So what is he talking about? What does he mean by “what’s happened since Charlottesville”? Don’t worry that you missed some big events in the news. You didn’t.
It’s just Trump’s usual propaganda/self-aggrandizement cycle:
1. Trump says something awful with no basis in fact.
2. Trump’s supporters, including right wing conspiracy theorists, willfully ignorant supporters, political allies, and yes, Russian Twitter bots, push that message out through made up news stories, memes, and just plain arguing.
3. Trump sees all of this, usually reported on Fox News, and takes it as evidence for what he said in the first place.
4. Trump says “I told you so” a lot.
There isn’t some media conspiracy against Trump. The truth is much more simple. Nazis are bad. Trump didn’t say that; he was using political correctness to protect his many racist supporters.
And he will keep bringing it up because he just can’t stand people saying he was wrong.

Darryl Strawberry Sides With Donald Trump Against Jemele Hill
Yesterday, a large part of the Black Twittersphere took up 140-character arms (not tiki torches) to ride out on behalf of our semi-silenced sista, Jemele Hill. We say “semi-silenced” because we know good and damn well Jemele isn’t going to stop telling the truth. Damn a Sporstcenter.
Anyway, while we were happy to see all the support pouring in for Jemele, one brotha in particular is WAY too sunken to say what’s right.
For those who are unaware, Strawberry’s probation officer reported that he had smoked crack with some janky jawn from an AA meeting who set him up to be robbed. Just so you know the type of judgement glass d!ck Darryl is dealing with.
