HBO Releases ‘Paterno’ Movie Trailer on Penn State Scandal Starring Al Pacino

The first trailer for HBO’s Paterno, starring Al Pacino as former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno, was released on Friday.

According to’s Candy Woodall, director Barry Levinson has said the movie is not a biopic that chronicles Paterno’s life.

Rather, it “zeroes in on a two-week period” in October 2011 when he was fired after Penn State’s football program was enveloped in a sexual abuse scandal involving former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

Levinson added that the movie doesn’t aim to make a case one way or the other that Paterno may have known about Sandusky’s abusive conduct prior to his arrest.

“The film lays out the elements of the story and leaves you to make your own judgment,” Levinson said. “There are times when you may feel one way, and times when you may feel a totally different way, and I think that’s what makes the piece so compelling.”

The movie, which does not have a firm release date, will debut sometime in the spring.

Cavaliers Trade Rumors: George Hill Reportedly Drawing Interest from Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly “expressing interest” in a trade for Sacramento Kings point guard George Hill, according to Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania.

Charania added the Cavaliers are “pursuing Hill to potentially slide into a dual-guard role, starting at either backcourt position or playing as a reserve.”

Hill signed a three-year, $57 million deal with the Kings in free agency, but those numbers are slightly misleading. While the 31-year-old is owed $20 million this season and $19 million for the 2018-19 campaign, his $18 million salary for the 2019-20 season is only guaranteed for $1 million.

Still, the financial logistics of working out a trade for Hill won’t be easy for Cleveland.

The defending Eastern Conference champions are currently over the salary cap and have exceeded the luxury tax threshold, which means they’ll have to match salaries in order to acquire the veteran floor general.

In his first season with the Kings, Hill is averaging 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 45.6 percent from three.

However, those numbers are primed to take a hit after head coach Dave Joerger told reporters Monday he will sit two veterans for each game moving forward in an effort to get his youngsters as much playing time as possible.

Tom Hardy Recorded A Hip-Hop Mixtape In 1999 — And It’s Really Good!

Before Tom Hardy was starring in blockbuster films, he was an aspiring rapper. No, really!

In a 2011 interview with BBC Newsbeat, Hardy revealed he even landed a recording deal before moving into the acting game, admitting he “recorded loads of stuff” that was never released.

But Hardy’s musical career isn’t going unnoticed anymore. Earlier this month, BAFTA-winning television writer Edward Tracy uploaded a mixtape of the unfinished beats to Bandcamp — and tbh, it’s kind of fire!

A then-22-year-old Hardy co-wrote and performed the lyrics in 1999 under the name Tommy No. 1. Tracy, going by Eddie Too Tall, co-wrote and produced the 18-track compilation.

Tracy said he decided to release the album, titled Falling on your Arse in 1999, because the Mad Max: Fury Road star recently asked about it. He even joked that a tour could be in the future if reception is positive enough, telling Complex:

“We always said we’d do a Vegas tour as a joke. Maybe if this album generates enough love then we can coax Tom onstage.”

Hey, if the Cash Me Ousside girl can have a thriving rap career, so can Tommy No. 1!

Take a listen to the full mixtape (below) and be prepared to fall on your arse!

Wyclef Jean Announces ‘A Night of Symphonic Hip-Hop’ Tour

Words by Nick Slay

Everyone is buzzing about Nas’ upcoming symphonic performance at the Kennedy Center set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Illmatic. However, it is important to note that he is not the first emcee to share his gift of rhyming on a classical level. Wyclef Jean was the first hip hop artist to play Carnegie Hall with a philharmonic orchestra. Never to be out done, The Fugee front man will be unleashing his “A Night of Symphonic Hip-Hop” Tour this spring. Fans, starting tonight at the Omaha Symphony, will be treated to five orchestras styled concerts that are sure to be as colorful and exciting as any track that he has ever produced.  Co-presented by the Maha Music Festival in Omaha, ‘Clef promises to show us his influences through these performances.

In dedication to and inspired by one of his musical heroes, Quincy Jones, Wyclef will re-tell the story of how he discovered jazz and classical music when he was a teenager, and how his whole goal was to make to Carnegie Hall. After making that dream come true he wanted to model his approach on Jones who is his inspiration for the project. Quincy Jones being the titan of musical scoring and arranging that started off as a young trumpeter for the likes of Ray Charles and exploded to the legendary producer of Michael Jackson and so much more. Jean said in a recent interview.

“I’m like a DNA of Quincy Jones,” Jean said. “He’s who I look up to. Think of this era — I’m a musician, an artist and a composer. You’re getting to hear the catalog from Wyclef the composer. The crowd gets the juxtaposition of material they might not have even known I wrote, from ‘Maria, Maria’ I wrote for Santana and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ with Shakira right up to 2018.”

Wyclef will be performing songs from his Carnival III, his first studio album in six years that released last year. The audience will be blessed as he plans to remix with all of the symphonic tools of classical music. For anyone who has seen Wyclef perform live knows this will be an experience that you won’t to miss.
