SNGLRTY watch indicates hour and minute with one hand

SNGLRTY uses a single had to display both the hour and minute

They say that less is more, and Hong Kong-based watch firm Swiss Reimagined has taken the adage to heart with its SNGLRTY wristwatch, which uses a single hand to display both hours and minutes. The Swiss-made chronometer uses a combination of a single moving hand and counter-rotating minute dial that frames the minute readout next to the current hour.

Super Bowl LII: Watch Pink’s Powerful National Anthem

Pink delivered a strong rendition of the National Anthem ahead of Super Bowl LII Sunday night despite battling the flu. The singer, a self-professed Philadelphia Eagles fan, is from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, which is about 30 miles outside Philadelphia.

Flanked by members of the military and an American flag, the Beautiful Trauma singer started with a smile and the disposal of her chewing gum. With striking power, she hit the notes without strain and completed the song in just under one minute and 55 seconds. The performance also featured actress Alexandria Wailes, who accompanied Pink in American Sign Language on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf.

Pink wrote on Instagram the day before the Super Bowl that she had the flu, but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to perform in front of her family, military family, the Eagles and the world. “Trying to practice the flu away,” she wrote. “I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song.”

Pink said arriving at this dream come true was “slowly becoming a sort of nightmare” due to her illness – which she got from her children Willow Sage and Jameson – but, she added, “this is one of the biggest honors of my life.”

The pre-game performances also included a performance of “America the Beautiful” from Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. This marked the second straight year that a former Hamilton cast member has performed the song at the Super Bowl.

Pink released her most recent album, Beautiful Trauma, last October. The record debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200, while her single, “What About Us,” peaked at Number 13 on the Hot 100. Pink will embark on a massive North American tour in support of Beautiful Trauma March 1st in Phoenix, Arizona.

How Turin turned against its Five Star Movement mayor

Chiara Appendino, elected in a ‘protest vote’ in 2016, has come under fire for failing to deliver on her promises

On the face of it, little has changed in the elegant northern Italian city of Turin since Chiara Appendino, of the Five Star Movement, became mayor in June 2016, ejecting a leftwing administration that had overseen the city’s transformation over the previous two decades.

The wide, tree-lined streets are just as clean, the variety of cultural attractions just as enviable, and the transport network, for the most part, just as efficient. But beneath the calm veneer, its people, usually known for their reserve, are seething.

On the Charts: Migos Back at Number One With ‘Culture II’

A year after Migos’ Culture debuted atop the Billboard 200, the Atlanta trio repeated the feat as their Culture II opened at Number One with 199,000 total copies sold.

However, of Culture II‘s 199,000 total copies sold, only 38,000 were from traditional album sales, with streaming equivalent albums (SEAs) responsible for 150,000 copies. With a 24-song track list, the album seems specifically engineered to amplify streaming totals, which it did successfully: Culture II had the Billboard 200’s most opening-week streams since Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. in May 2017.

As Billboard notes, Rolling Stone cover stars Quavo, Offset and Takeoff are now only the fifth hip-hop group in history to have more than one Number One album, joining the Beastie Boys (four times) and A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and D12 (two apiece).

Above & Beyond were the only other artist to enter the Top 10 this week as the group’s Common Ground debuted at Number Three, one spot behind The Greatest Showman soundtrack, which held at Number Two for a third straight week.

Bruno Mars’ Grammy-sweeping weekend resulted in a boost in sales for 24K Magic as the singer’s Album of the Year winner jumped from Number 10 to Number Four thanks to an 89 percent surge in sales. Two more Grammy winners – Ed Sheeran’s Divide and Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. – finished the week at Number Five and Number Six.

Camila Cabello’s Camila dropped to Number Seven, ahead of fellow returnees Post Malone’s Stoney (Number Eight), Khalid’s American Teen (Number Nine) and Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (Number 10).

Super Bowl halftime performer Justin Timberlake is destined for next week’s Number One with his new LP Man of the Woods.
