Nor’easter Blamed For Another Death In Tri-State Area

ANDOVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The nor’easter that slammed the Northeast last week has claimed another life in the Tri-State Area.

Police confirmed Sunday a 41-year-old man in Andover, New Jersey died Friday night after coming in contact with power lines that fell during the storm.

Authorities believe the man was investigating a fire that had been sparked by the downed lines at the time.

The powerful storm is blamed for at least eight other deaths, including an 11-year-old boy who died when a tree came crashing into his Putnam County home.

Tens of thousands of people remained without power across the area Sunday.

Some customers in New Jersey could be in the dark until Tuesday or Wednesday, officials said.

“We have two young girls, so staying in a home without electricity wasn’t an option,” said John Thompson, of Morris Township, whose family has been staying with in-laws. “I know (the utility crews) are working as hard and fast as they can, but it’s still frustrating that it’s taking so long.”

In Connecticut, Eversource said it hopes to have power restored to all its customers by the end of the day Sunday.

Meanwhile, a number of roads in the state remain closed due to debris from the storm.

Syrian government forces capture villages of eastern Ghouta

Hopes of aid entering besieged enclave dashed as Assad’s forces seize more territory

Forces loyal to the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, have captured six villages and towns bordering the besieged rebel-held enclave of eastern Ghouta, as hopes that a long-planned humanitarian convoy might enter the area were dashed again.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based monitor, confirmed the latest advances, saying pro-regime government forces had seized about a quarter of the enclave on the outskirts of Damascus in recent days.

On the Charts: Bon Jovi Turn Ticket Sales Into Number One Album

Nearly 15 months after Bon Jovi‘s This House Is Not for Sale debuted atop the Billboard 200, the Rock Hall-bound band’s latest LP returned to the Number One spot. The album had fallen off the album charts entirely before resurfacing in the top spot.

This House Is Not for Sale‘s return is thanks entirely to a deal that packaged tickets to Bon Jovi’s upcoming tour with a free physical or digital copy of the album. Of the estimated 375,000 Bon Jovi ticket buyers, 120,000 of them redeemed the offer to receive the free This House Is Not for Sale, resulting in 120,000 traditional copies sold on this week’s chart, Billboard reports.

This House Is Not for Sale sold 129,000 total copies when the album debuted atop the Billboard 200 upon its release in November 2016; that figure was also aided by the promotion that paired ticket sales (to a spring 2017 tour) with the then-new album.

Two actual new releases debuted in the Top 10: Rapper 6ix9ine’s Day 69 opened at Number Four with 55,000 total copies, while Vance Joy’s Nation of Two bowed at Number 10.

After two weeks on the Billboard 200 throne, Black Panther: The Album fell one spot to Number Two, ahead of Migos’ Culture II at Number Three, The Greatest Showman soundtrack at Number Five and Ed Sheeran’s Divide at Number Six. Fellow returnees Post Malone’s Stoney (Number Seven), Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (Eight) and Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. (Nine) completed the back half of the Top 10.

Broadly neutralizing antibody treatment may target HIV viral reservoir in monkeys

After receiving a course of antiretroviral therapy for their HIV-like infection, half of a group of monkeys infused with a broadly neutralizing antibody to HIV paired with an immune stimulatory compound suppressed the virus for over 4 months without additional treatment, according to scientists. The therapy may have targeted the viral reservoir. The addition of the immune stimulatory compound appears to have extended the duration and amount of viral suppression.

And now, when you go to Younes’ Instagram account, here’s what you get (below):

Kourt’s IG has been scrubbed of those ‘tea’ pics… but she did post a cute pic of Khloé Kardashian‘s baby bump yesterday (below):
