Josh Duggar Breaks His Silence On Twitter! What Did The Scandalized Reality Star Come Out Of Hiding To Say?!

Its been a while since Josh Duggar broke his silence.

On May 21, the reality star tweeted out his last message, a personal statement regarding the news that he molested his own sisters as a teenager. Ever since that final share, Josh has been radio SILENT despite his other family members speaking out to Fox News.

Now, almost a month later, the 19 Kids & Counting star tweeted the following message and it’s not what you’d might expect.

Check out the tweet (below)!

While it’s nice to see Duggar celebrating the birthday of his son, we wonder why this couldn’t have been done privately. It’s not like Michael has a Twitter account of his own and can read the reply messages!

What’s also interesting about this is you can see the foyer of the Duggar household in the background — we guess Josh and his brood are shacking up in the Arkansas compound after leaving Washington, D.C., earlier this month!

We have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ll hear from Mr. Duggar… it’s damage control time!!

Cornell Tech Breaks Ground On Roosevelt Island Campus

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Bloomberg Philanthropies is donating $100 million to a Cornell University graduate school for a new high-tech New York City campus breaking ground Tuesday.

Cornell Tech broke ground on its new campus on Roosevelt Island. The first academic building will be called the Bloomberg Center in honor of Emma and Georgina Bloomberg, the daughters of former New York City mayor and Bloomberg Philanthropies founder Michael Bloomberg.

New York City’s current mayor, Bill de Blasio, joined his predecessor at the ceremony.

Today, the city’s thriving tech ecosystem opens a new chapter,” de Blasio said in a statement. “Cornell Tech comes to Roosevelt Island with a laudable mission to utilize technology and innovation to solve real-world problems and drive smart, powerful and equitable economic growth in New York City.”

Cornell Tech Dean Dan Huttenlocher said he’s ecstatic construction on the campus is getting started.

“The Roosevelt Island location is really the perfect place for this new campus because, on the one hand, it’s right in the heart of New York. The F train is right there. We’ve been calling the F train the tech train because of the neighborhoods that it runs through — Flatiron, Chelsea, out into DUMBO and Downtown Brooklyn,” Huttenlocher told WCBS 880’s Rich Lamb.

Cornell Tech was founded when it was selected in December of 2011 as the winner of New York City Economic Development Corporation’s Applied Sciences NYC initiative, which sought proposals for a university to develop a campus in partnership with the city.

The effort was intended to spur the growth of the high-tech industry in New York City.

Cornell Tech began classes in January 2013 at temporary space in Manhattan donated by Google.

There are currently 15 faculty members, two dozen Ph.D. students in several disciplines and four master’s programs spanning the fields of engineering, health care and business.

Huttenlocher describes Cornell Tech as “a graduate school that combines deep understanding and know-how in technology fields with the business and legal and policy and other kinds of expertise that are required to make a difference.”

The first phase of the new campus will open in summer 2017. When fully completed, the campus will span 12 acres.

French government pushes through economic reforms

MPs of the opposition leave as Prime Minister Manuel Valls delivers a speech during a session on June 16, 2015 at the French National Assembly in ParisFrance's socialist government on Tuesday forced a package of key economic reforms through parliament without a vote, sparking a walk-out from the opposition and a vote of no-confidence. With a left-wing flank of rebel MPs threatening to torpedo the passage into law of the economic reforms, Prime Minister Manuel Valls resorted to a little-used constitutional device to push them through without MPs voting. The country needs to move forward," Valls said in rowdy scenes in the National Assembly lower house of parliament.

Black Suits and Summer Job Interviews

interview suit - hot weatherCan you still interview in a black suit in the summertime? When you have to attend a job interview in hot weather, is there a better, lighter alternative to the standard black or blue suit? Reader D wonders…

I had a sudden job interview this week and had to wear a suit. Although they had air conditioning, it was very hot. My suit was black and it seemed too heavy. Aren’t there better alternatives to the black/blue suit when it’s over 80 degrees? Thanks!

Interesting question. We’ve talked about whether seasonless suiting is truly seasonless, as well as discussed lightweight blazers, dressing professionally for summer, and maintaining a professional look when it’s blisteringly hot — but we haven’t talked about this exact question.

I’m curious to hear what the readers say — my gut reaction here, possibly tempered by spending pretty much every summer since reaching adulthood in New York City is this: Not wear black? What’re you talkin’ about? So: with everything else, know your region (much like with colorful suits). Still, some notes:

  • Interview in a cotton suit.  Tropical/seasonless wool is usually what people interview in — but if it were me, and I doubted my ability to show up at the interview not melted/sweaty/disgusting, I would wear a suit like Ann Taylor’s cotton sateen suiting.
  • Interview in lighter colors.  If your only objection to black is sartorial, and it just feels heavy, there are a bunch of professional ways to lighten it up — wear a white or pastel blouse beneath the suit instead of a darker color; add white details (pearls are seasonless, but my mind does go right there for an interview!), or wear a gray or navy suit instead if black feels too funereal.
  • Hack the interview.  If you’re worried about looking like a sweaty mess for the interview, you may need to pull out all the stops. For example:
    • Arrive early and plan to go to a coffee shop nearby for at least 15 minutes to cool down.
    • Drink a very cold drink, and press an ice-filled glass against your pressure points.
    • If there’s public transportation such as a long, hot, sticky subway ride, consider a) bringing your pantyhose and blazer to change into at the coffee shop, and b) consider using something designed to absorb sweat from armpits and your bra, such as the Wick’Em bra liner or armpit shields. If you’re worried about smelling sweaty, a new application of deodorant and a spritz or two of dry shampoo may also be in your future. (Please, please, please do not use perfume to attempt to cover up the smell of sweat.)

Ladies, what are your thoughts — would you wear black to a summer interview? Would you raise an eyebrow if someone interviewed for you in a black suit?

Psst: We’ve also talked about gray suits for interviews and suit colors in general — and you should also check out our Guide to Basic Women’s Suiting.
