Oprah Cuts Ties with Russell Simmons, Removes him from her Book

Don’t mess with Oprah, or you’ll pay the consequences.

If you don’t know what those consequences are, speak to Russell Simmons. Simmons has been removed from the talk show host’s book The Wisdom of Sundays, according to the New York Times. The book features excerpts of conversations with stars on the OWN television series Super Soul Sundays. People like Shonda Rhimes and Tracy Morgan have been on the show sharing their thoughts and wisdom.

The founder of the record label Def Jam has been accused of sexual assault by over a dozen women. In November, he stepped down from his firm Rush Communications and his positions at Def Jam after screenwriter, Jenny Lumet, sued him for raping her in August of 2016. Simmons has denied all allegations.

Any new books being printed will not have the hip-hop mogul’s thoughts on mindfulness and grace and gratitude and how meditation affected his life. Oprah has been an advocate for the women who have come forward with their stories about sexual assault and gave a speech about the #MeToo movement recently at the Golden Globes.
