Woman Dead, Child And 4 Others Hurt When SUV Hits Pedestrians In Richmond Hill, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Three people were struck by a vehicle on a sidewalk in Richmond Hill, Queens late Tuesday afternoon, and one was killed.

Around 5:45 p.m., two vehicles collided at 108th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Queens, police said.

A 43-year-old woman driving a white sport-utility vehicle had run a red light at 108th Street, police said. Her vehicle was struck by a black Kia being driven by a 23-year-old woman, which was headed north on 108th Street, police said.

The SUV ended up on the sidewalk – where three people were struck, police said.

A 58-year-old woman and the two drivers were also hospitalized. Their condition as reported as stable, police said.

The victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, and North Shore-LIJ Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, police said.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
