Barclays Under-21 Premier League 2015 Table: Latest Scores, Results and Schedule

Phil Jones set up Ashley Fletcher for Manchester United’s only goal in the win over Southampton, firing the Red Devils back to the top of the Group 1 standings of the 2014-15 Under-21 Premier League season.

Liverpool had briefly taken over the top spot with a 2-1 win over Leicester City, but the Mancunians restored order by winning their evening match as well. And with Chelsea also emerging victorious from their clash with Fulham, all Group 1 title candidates did what they were supposed to do on Monday.

Here is the full schedule for this week:

Here are the current U21 Premier League standings:

Monday Recap

Jones, Andreas Pereira and Adnan Januzaj all started for Manchester United, but it was Fletcher who emerged as the hero of the day with his goal in the 17th minute. He quickly reacted to Jones’ header, which bounced off the crossbar, to give the hosts a lead they would never relinquish, per the club’s official Twitter account:

Sam Gallagher believed he had equalised for the Saints, but the referee called it back for offside. And he was unlucky not to see his late effort go in, as it clipped the crossbar instead.

There was more drama in store for the visitors when Jake Hesketh suffered the same fate just minutes later. The Red Devils survived Southampton’s challenge by the skin of their teeth, but it was good enough to regain first place.

Liverpool had overtaken the Red Devils earlier in the day by beating Leicester City 2-1, per the club’s official Twitter account:

The Foxes had taken the lead through Joe Davis and dominated the first half, continuing their excellent late-season form. But the Reds rallied in the second half, with Daniel Cleary and Cameron Brannagan turning the one-goal deficit into a 2-1 win.

Liverpool and United both still have two matches left on their schedule, and the difference between the two clubs is currently just two points. The Reds’ next challenge will be a difficult trip to London to face Chelsea.

The Blues sit four points behind Liverpool but still have two matches in hand, and they comfortably beat Fulham 3-1 on Monday. Dominic Solanke was once again the big man for Chelsea with two goals, per the club’s official Twitter account:

Charly Musonda also managed to get himself on the scoresheet, while Australian striker Adam Taggart scored for the hosts.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur served up a true spectacle for the fans in attendance, going back and forth for 90 minutes in a 3-3 draw. Harry Winks thought he had won the match for Spurs by scoring late in the second half, but Jorginho managed to salvage a point for the Citizens.

Alex Iwobi scored the only goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion, pushing the Gunners back into the top four of the Group 2 standings.

Middlesbrough and Reading, who are in the middle of a fierce battle for the Group 2 title, won’t be in action during the midweek fixtures.

Windows Central photo contest: Clouds

The photo contest is back and the latest theme is something we’ve been seeing plenty of these last couple of weeks: Clouds. We’ve had a few events to travel to of late so our own viewpoint has always been from above, but the sometimes white fluffy things in the sky can make for some dramatic, artistic, downright awesome looking photos.

So, let’s see what you’ve got! But first, let’s see who won the previous contest.

Listen to Giorgio Moroder’s “Diamonds” Featuring Charli XCX

Storied Italian producer Giorgio Moroder will be featuring quite an impressive roster of talent on his forthcoming album Déjà Vu, his first studio effort in over 30 years. Joining the ranks of Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Kelis on the LP is current pop “It Girl” Charli XCX, who collaborated with Moroder on the newly released single “Diamonds.” The soaring track is steered by electro-thumping synths and glazed over by the Brit starlet’s signature bratty chorus lines.

Listen to “Diamonds” below and look out for Déjà Vu when it drops on June 12 via RCA.

Last year, Jordan Brand announced the return of the popular “Hare” campaign for 2015. With the brand already releasing several silhouettes under the “Hare” campaign this year, the Jumpman has decided to add the “Hare” treatment to the Jordan Melo M11.

The canvas of the M11 silhouette will feature the OG colorways of the “Hare” campaign. The sneaker will include a leather upper with accents of red and orange throughout the silhouette. The sneaker will also feature a white midsole with Jordan brand’s FlightPlate technology. Jumpman branding will be embossed on the heel tab and tongue of the M11. A light green interior will round off the shoe’s look.

No word yet on when the Jordan Melo M11 “Hare” will release, but stay tuned with XXL for more information surrounding this sneaker.

Tidal Might Pay Labels More Than Spotify

Jay Z

Tidal, the streaming service recently purchased, re-branded and re-launched by Jay Z, has been maligned in the press and by fans. Many have called into question how populist a venture it could be, given the net worths of those present at the highly publicized announcement; Hov’s disjointed Twitter monologue defending the site did little to quell fears. However, a new development could cast his latest venture in a more positive light. According to what appears to be an earnings report leaked by an anonymous independent record label to Digital Music News, Tidal’s payments per stream were, on average, more than one-and-a-half times those paid out by Spotify. The numbers themselves–1.2 cents vs. .72 cents–seem minuscule, but at a great enough volume, could mean tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of difference.

Though he has been in the news lately as a tech financier, Jay Z still has his hand in the music world. There’s the rumored collaboration album with his wife, Beyonce; his Roc Nation also made waves by signing Vic Mensa, the Chicago rapper first famous for his association with Chance the Rapper. Of late, Mensa has been notable for his collaborations with Kanye West: the drill-infused “U Mad” and the nascent “Wolves,” which is rumored to be the first song on West’s forthcoming seventh album.

Kelly Clarkson’s Daughter River Rose Befriends Kangaroos In Australia — And It Is EVERYTHING!! Get The Cuteness HERE!

When you thought the internet couldn’t be any cuter, in swoops Kelly Clarkson with some heart-melting baby photos!

The American Idol winner and her family started off May with a trip to Australia — and already they’ve collected many adorable candid moments.

On Sunday, the Since U Been Gone singer took to Instagram to share pics (below) of her daughter, River Rose Blackstock and her new animal friends from the Symbio Wildlife Park.

First day in Australia spent at the @SymbioWildlifePark. Best day ever! River made lots of friends. Check this place out! #symbiozooA photo posted by Kelly Clarkson (@kellyclarkson) on May 3, 2015 at 3:12pm PDT

Did we just witness a best friendship blossom between baby River and a kangaroo?! Seems like it!

Is it legal to put a baby that close to a wild animal — maybe in Australia?! Hey What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger — right, Kelly??

Regardless, the new mom’s trip is giving us a serious case of #FOMO!

However, it isn’t unusual for the From Justin to Kelly actress to take her baby on adventures. Remember when then two-month-old River attended her first concert?! We do!

The Heartbeat Song performer does have an upcoming show in Australia on Friday, so perhaps they can squeeze in a few more family outings!!

Oh, we hope so!
